BrainTransporter™ – A technology to cross the blood-brain barrier
The blood-brain barrier (BBB) controls the passage of substances between the bloodstream and the brain. It protects the brain from harmful substances, but at the same time, it can make the delivery of drugs, especially large molecules such as antibodies, to the brain more difficult.
BrainTransporter™ is a technology built on modified antibodies that can actively be transported across the BBB into the brain. This developing technology has demonstrated a robust increase in antibody exposure in the brain and is being applied in our drug discovery programs where beneficial effects can be expected due to improvement in brain exposure.
